What is A Princess Wish?
A Princess Wish is a non-profit organization whose mission is to empower girls ages 5-15 by promoting positive self-esteem and self-concept.
How does A Princess Wish achieve its mission?
We provide etiquette and life skills training classes for girls in our community. We also partner with local community organizations that provide services to girls facing medical, financial, or social hardships and host “Inspired Princess Workshops” for their program participants at low or no cost.
How do you apply your mission of empowerment during one of your events?
At the beginning of every workshop, each girl is asked to pick a positive adjective about her (caring, smart, talented, bright, trustworthy, happy, etc). We then write that adjective on her name tag and address her by her name and positive attribute for the duration of the workshop.
Etiquette workshops are taught in three to six 1-hour sessions. Our professional trainers will teach the girls correct posture, poise, proper table manners, and good grooming habits (financial literacy, and healthy living may also be covered depending on the length of the workshop).
After the girls are trained and have mastered proper etiquette skills, they will practice what they learned by participating in our "Girl Power Tea Party" complete with real china, tea cups, linen and dress up!
During an "Inspired Princess Workshop", each girl will get to experience pampering spa treatments accompanied by confidence building lessons. For example, a “Best Face Forward Facial” is an activity that includes a cleansing spa treatment for the face accompanied by information about good hygiene, learning to smile in spite of adversity and how facial expressions say a lot about you. In addition, each girl will get to make a spa product to take home with her as a reminder of how special she truly is!
At the end of each workshop, each girl will take the Inspired Princess Pledge and participate in a fashion runway show complete with pink stage curtains!
Do you provide cosmetology services?
Although we do have a partnering licensed cosmetologist, Yonkardia Lewing-Thomas, all spa treatments performed during our workshops are self-directed and are for entertainment purposes only. We do not use any harsh chemicals or utensils. We also do not provide any expert health or beauty opinions.

Can I schedule a workshop for my daughter's birthday party?
Yes! Hosting one of our workshops for your daughter's birthday party is truly a party with a purpose! All proceeds from hosted private parties are used to further our mission of empowering girls in our community!
Where do you host your events?
We bring the experience to your location or partner with another agency to provide a venue for our workshops!
